Cliffs of Moher, Ireland, April 2023

Over the course of 23 days, from April 9 to May 1, 2023, we explored eight different European countries. Spending, on average, two to three days in each country, the trip took 8 months to plan and pay off, was a whirlwind of activity and created lasting memories none of us will forget.

On each of the pages below, I’ve shared our experiences so that we don’t forget the small things — and to help others dream their own grand adventure up… and start planning for it!

The Countries Visited

Counting these countries, the girls have been to 10 countries. The remaining two are:

  • Morocco
  • Bahamas

The girls have also seen these 10 U.S. States:

  • Tennessee
  • Florida
  • South Carolina
  • California
  • Oregon
  • Texas
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Alabama
  • Georgia

Travel is a special thing because it inspires a sense of adventure, of discovering new things, of igniting a confidence that you can do hard, unfamiliar things and it also serves as a reminder that people everywhere are more alike than they are different, which can remind us that we are not alone. Exploring the world is also an exhibition of God’s glory, creativity and awesomeness. Scripture says that something of Him is revealed to us through His creations, so travel provides an opportunity to deepen our connection with and understanding of God.

It is also fun!
